Our Story

When DLM was getting its start back in the early '90s, our project list included just about anything an old house might need. Our antique home in College Hill - and our neighbors' homes - needed everything! We started working on tile and hardwood floors, plumbing, structural repairs, and much more. Branching out of the neighborhood, we talked with many people who wanted to make their homes more functional and livable, and were looking for a professional Greensboro remodeler to do a complete kitchen makeover or add a master bedroom and bath. DLM had been successfully creating and updating spaces in Greensboro's three historic districts, and becoming more well-known all over town.

We're here to help.

Starting with remodeling their century-old home in Greensboro's College Hill Historic District, David and Leslie Millsaps were drawn to the idea of helping others reshape their spaces into more comfortable, livable homes for today. It was the motivation for and the beginning of DLM, and we still love our antique residence!

David formed DLM Builders more than two decades ago. He is your idea man – having seen the many ways spaces can be ill-designed and built, he can suggest alternatives that will work for you and your home. David enjoys maintaining the client relationship, and is involved with each project from initial meeting to successful completion.

Leslie has been maintaining the inner workings of DLM for twenty-two years. Someone who picks up your call personally – whose power tools are the PC and smartphone – she is also the public face of the company in organizations such as Preservation Greensboro and Greensboro Builders Association Remodelers Council.
